Industries are about to change. And portfolio movements are going to signal how.

Where is a company headed? What are implications of structural shifts in individual sectors? Questions that are often asked but rarely associated with real estate portfolios.

But the signals are very telling:

Industrials such as Bayer selling of parts of their portfolios and reinvesting elsewhere, or keeping a cash cushion for the core business?

= Signals a change of the core business strategy often impacting products and services.

New office locations or expansions?

= Signal market and talent importance.

Companies investing in data centre capacity or tech hubs in a specific market?

= Signals a strong ecosystem and market development.

I guess you get the pattern and you can think through this through all asset classes. So while slower, real estate indicates much more structural shifts and therefore tell you where a company is headed.
