Joining India Panel in Zurich

A contract is only as good as the relationship behind it.

That was the thread of a panel on doing business in India I joined in Zurich on Tuesday.

ICC YAAF and Young MCIA hosted the evening, with a focus on the opportunity for Swiss companies. I kicked it off with a short presentation, “Why India. Why Now.”, on why India matters and what companies look for when they enter the market, based on my work with India Rising.

In one sentence: India is the fastest growing major economy, backed by large-scale infrastructure investments, with a domestic market to be part of now.

Where that meets contracting: we discussed the structures and processes to put in place before any dispute arises. Ideally it never comes to one, and if it does, there are steps to mitigate it.

I joined remotely from Berlin, alongside Janine Haesler (VISCHER), Tobias Bär (Flughafen Zürich), Ali Amerjee (DLA Piper), and Zarah Kronbach (Migros Bank and YPN of the Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce).
