"You’ve spent 14 years in Real Estate. Why India?"
I get this question a lot when I’m in Munich or Frankfurt. People see my work with Zinnov on Global Capability Centers (GCCs) and my platform India Rising, and they wonder why I’ve committed so much energy to India.
From a real estate point of view, the answer is actually simple: Urbanisation at a scale the majority completely underestimates.
After 14+ years managing €2Bn+ in assets across 30 countries and executing corporate real estate strategies, you start to develop a "pattern recognition" for where value is created, and how business strategies adjust. Europe taught me about stability, precision, and the flight to quality.
But India?
India is where those standards are meeting unprecedented velocity.
And nobody knows.
Here’s what’s happening:
➡️ The FTA Catalyst: With the India-EU FTA finally concluded this week, the "Indo-European Corridor" now got massive tailwinds.
➡️ The Urban Migration: India is undergoing one of the largest urban migration in human history. By 2030, around 40% of its population will live in cities. By 2050, the urban population is projected to grow by 330 million. Adding roughly the equivalent of the entire US population (!) in just a few decades.
➡️ The Global Filter: This urbanisation is local, but fueled by international capital and businesses. Over 70% (!) of the infrastructure needed by 2050 is yet to be built.
My international background allows me to connect these dots. I helped market entries and I developed real estate strategies for technology hubs in India myself.
I value the work with my German and European network and enjoy the projects here. And I’m excited to provide a bridge for those looking to access the immense growth in India.
