Sharing Insights on India's GCC Ecosystem at IHK Frankfurt

How German businesses unlock the market potential.

You need to be there.

Some markets you can sell into from a distance. Others you have to show up for.

That point came up from nearly everyone in the room last week in Frankfurt, at India as Market and Investment Hub. Hosted by IHK Frankfurt and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, with support from Consul General of India in Frankfurt Mrs. Kishore, the event brought together a mixed group of business leaders.

I had the opportunity to share latest data on the Global Capability Center (GCC) market for German companies, and was part of the events expert panel.

A simple distribution model will not work in India. Personal connections are essential, and they are built in person. Meeting your business partners, spending time with them, establishing trust before the commercial conversation. The relationship comes first.

That was the consensus across the panel, and it matched what I hear from companies going in.

Two more key messages:

Indias innovation hubs are in high demand, and increasingly so by German businesses.

India is a market with tremendous potential, accelerated by the EU-India free trade agreement as it will unlock new opportunities.

Thank you to my fellow panelists Anne Krieckhaus (Indo-German Chamber of Commerce), Dr. Dominic Deller (Samson Group), Carsten Diers (DIERS International GmbH) and Christian Back (Deutsche Börse AG) for the engaging discussion on "New Paths in Doing Business with India".

Thank you IHK Frankfurt am Main, Dr. Jürgen Ratzinger and Johannes Richter, for the invitation.
