Move Now, Not later

My takeaways from the Make In India Mittelstand Event in Berlin.

150 people. One clear message:

Move now, not later.

Yesterday I attended the 9th Make In India Mittelstand event at the Embassy of India, Berlin alongside many Mittelstand representatives from the machinery, food and consumer sector, alongside blue chips like Deutsche Bank and Siemens Energy.

The conversations ranged from EU-India FTA expectations to domestic manufacturing setups and Global Capability Centers, which I see as an increasing need to keep up with technological developments and gain access to India's strong tech ecosystem. Also geopolitics, market opportunities and lessons learned were top of mind of the panel and personal conversations.

It was also great catching up Dr. Maximilian von Laer, Dr. Florian Ramel, Philipp Kolb, Matthias Feist, Sukesh Das, Vaidehi Rege, Udey Singh Thakur and others, even if brief.

My full review including the key takeaways on trade, market entry, and what Mittelstand leaders are actually planning will be shared in Monday’s issue of India Rising.

But main takeaway: India is becoming top of mind for businesses of all sizes.
