GCC Maturity

Not a back office function.

“It’s back-office functions.”

I keep hearing this. The chart attached to this post is what I then often refer to. Rocket Science work, frontier development, was 2-3% of India's GCC output in 2015. Today it's 7% and HQ locations sit at 8.2%. The gap closed in a decade and some GCCs contribute more than their HQ.

Qualcomm completed a 2nm tape-out in India. Intel's India GCC contributed core architecture to their next-gen processor platform Panther Lake. Siemens Healthineers and SAP both run their largest campuses outside HQ from India, and both are approaching parity with their home base. About 20% of all semiconductor designers globally are based in India.

European boards are increasingly understanding this potential. Not only to accelerate their own development, but to access this tech-focused ecosystem. In my conversations across the ecosystem, a growing number are actively exploring entry or expansion.

Be ready for more Executive Boards meeting in India. And stay up to date trough India Rising.
